From time to time I will be writting about the brick wall assholes in The VA Regional Office and MeClellan VA Hospital.  And I do use the the term assholes lightly because the simple reason being Gay Veterans Are Not Welcome anywhere in the VA Regional Office the VA hospitals in Little Rock nor anywhere else in Arkansas for that matter.

I’ve been told the VA in Atlanta is the Gay Meca of the South, whether or not is strictly rumor.  When I was being treated by the VA doctors in New Orleans, Louisiana my cronic conditions improved by a whopping 600% and Morrilton, AR ripped all of that progress to shreds in about three to four short months following my return in early 2003.

This is the voice that is never given attention or even heard by the Gay Rights groups, or the celebrities who come out of the closet, nor Lambda, nor the ACLU or the news media or the department of veterans affairs. This is the voice that can only heard on so called vanity websites on remote outposts of the web such as this one.

You have to be a celebrity or a high profile person like Senator Larry Craig before the news media or gay rights groups want to have anything to do with you. I consider Senator Craig the low of the low, as ranking member of the Committee on Veterans Affairs, Senator Craig not only had the power but every opportunity to right the wrongs of veterans, gay, straight, bisexual and transgendered.

Some have told me I don’t know how the VA system works and that may be true. But I sure as hell know when the entire deck is stacked against me (and triply so for a gay Vietnam veteran). My observations here are based on a lifetime of lies perpetrated by the Department of Veterans Affairs and small town Society in this neck of the woods.  All veterans gay, straight, or whatever who have a computer and internet access should post a website or blog, detailing their experiences both good and bad with the Department of Veterans Affairs.

If all Senators and Congress people (for the Senators and Congress people must share as much blame and shame as The Department of Veterans Affairs, as well as The Federal Judges) had been as public during the time of Vietnam as they are about the Iraq veterans, The Department of Veterans Affairs might not be in as Shitty a state as it is now.

And should you feel like using dirty gutter language go right ahead, your not writing about how Joe Blow down the street thinks it should be written, or what he or she thinks sounds better or what the VA would have you write. You are writing your experiences, your feelings and your emotions, let the world know what The Department of Veterans Affairs is really like.
